Sending High Resolution Photos
For best quality, we ask that you send us the original, un-cropped and un-edited, high resolution version of your photo. We can crop your photos and convert them to black and white or sepia tone. Just make note in the special instructions area when placing your order.
Any time you re-save a photo as a JPEG or other compressed image format you will lose quality, so please send us the photo just as it came off of your camera.
Here are some tips for sending high resolution photos via e-mail.
MSN, Hotmail and Windows Live
MSN, Hotmail and Windows Live e-mail users can send full-sized photos. Click Attach, and then click Files on the menu. If you click “attach” “photos” your pictures will be reduced in size so they are at most 600 pixels wide or tall, and can be more easily viewed online, but will not print the best they can.
AOL
AOL limits the size of e-mail you can send or receive to 16 megabytes (MB). This includes the message text, headers and the attachment combined. If the photos you are trying to send exceed a total of 16 MB, you will need to send the photos one at a time or in smaller groups of two or three.
There are two ways to send photos via e-mail using AOL. Attach File, or Insert Pictures. Either method is fine, however if you choose Insert Pictures, please choose the Full quality option in the mail picture quality options window. You may refer to the links above for screen captures and more detailed help provided by America Online.
Picasa
You can send a photo in its full resolution using Picasa. You must set Picasa’s email options to send the photo in its original size, and you can only send one photo at a time.
1. Open Picasa.
2. Click “Tools” > “Options” > “Email.”
3. Under “When sending single pictures, resize to:”, select the “Original Size” option.
4. Click “OK.”
Once this option is selected, any single photo you send will be the complete photo file. At the present time it is not possible to send multiple photos in their original sizes.
You Send It
You Send It allows you to bypass your e-mail server’s size limitations to send very large files. Their service is free and does not require registration. Simply enter our e-mail address, your e-mail address and select the photo from your computer.
