Apple today released Aperture™ 2.1, which introduces an open plug-in architecture that makes it easy for photographers to use specialized third party imaging software right from within Aperture. Available today as a free software update, Aperture 2.1 includes the Apple-developed plug-in, Dodge & Burn, which adds brush-based tools for dodge (lighten), burn (darken), contrast, saturation, sharpen and blur. Over the coming months, third party software developers will deliver image editing plug-ins for localized editing, filters and effects, noise analysis and reduction, fisheye lens correction and more.

Why should you send save the date cards to your guests?

People’s lives are getting increasingly busier and more tightly scheduled so that’s where Save the Date announcements come in handy. You want to make sure that your guests, especially family and close friends, keep the date of your wedding open when planning their schedules. Today is St. Patrick’s Day. You may have more luck finding a leprechaun than a McDonald’s Shamrock Milkshake (they seem to sell out (?) of these every year), which is why we’re posting a recipe for you to make your own. Enjoy!

McDonald’s Shamrock Milkshake

2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 ¼ cups 2% lowfat milk
¼ teaspoon mint extract
8 drops green food coloring

Directions

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend on high until smooth. If needed, stop blender and stir with a spoon to help blend in ice cream. Makes 2 servings.
