Gift Giving Made Easy

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Each year our family is involved in a handful of gift exchanges. These can be lots of fun but you can easily end up giving or getting the wrong gift.

We love getting gift cards, and this year eBay checks in with their own. You can find them at most grocery stores and they’re accepted by anyone that accepts PayPal.

Year of Multiples

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

This year we’ve had more requests to include more than one photo on our photo Christmas cards and holiday cards. Each of our designs is completely editable so including more than one photo is no problem.

We have a few examples of cards we’ve created using multiple photos. You can view them here.

Simply make note of your request to use more than one photo in the special instructions area of our order form. Once you complete the ordering process, you can follow the link to our upload area, or simply attach your photos to an e-mail to us.

Happy Holidays from Scrapless Press!

Such Beautiful Announcements

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Scrapless Press on the recent work you did creating our daughter’s birth announcements. We received the announcements on Wednesday and by today (Friday) we have already received numerous phone calls and e-mails from friends telling us how precious the announcements were. We’ve told our friends all about Scrapless Press and how professional you were in all of the responding e-mails. Thank you for creating such beautiful announcements. Our little “lady bug” looks adorable!

Thank you again,

Jenny

How do I submit my photo?

Friday, November 16th, 2007

There are 3 ways you can send Scrapless Press your photo:

Upload it. Once you complete your purchase, you’ll see a button that when pressed, will take you to our photo upload page. Please e-mail us the name of your photo when the upload is complete.

You can send your photo to us via e-mail. Please review our tips for sending photos via AOL, Hotmail or Picasa to make sure you are sending the high resolution version of your photo. Always send the original, full size, high resolution and uncropped version of your photo. If you would like a specific crop or your color photo converted to black and white or sepia, just let us know. We can do this and it’s no charge to you!

Mail it. If you have a print we’d be happy to scan it for you. Please use this option only when a digital copy of your photo is not available. When sending original photos via regular mail we suggest you use a photo mailer which is more durable than a regular envelope. Please submit original photos no larger than 5 x 7 inches, they will be returned with your order.

More info:

It is best to send your images in their original color mode (usually RGB), and full size (not cropped). If you would like a black and white, sepia, or otherwise tinted photo, we can convert your image without changing your original.

Trust the color experts at Scrapless Press. With over 20 years experience in photo manipulation / editing and color enhancement, your photo is sure to print the best it possibly can. We carefully analyze and enhance your photo to its full potential and use a professional photo lab for real photo prints that won’t fade and are sure to be a treasured keepsake for years to come.

Are those real embellishments on your cards?

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Scrapless Press creates photo cards, invitations and announcements for any occasion. Our unique design process gives the cards a homemade, multi-dimensional and realistic look. There are no embellishments on them. The cards are real 4×6 photographs, professionally printed on Kodak paper in a photo lab (NOT on a home, desktop printer) then hand mounted to white card stock for a finished look, durability and the option of printing or handwriting a message to your recipient.

Scrapless - \skrap, les\, adjective: having no scraps; noun: the process of composing elements digitally while maintaining a realistic look.

It’s all in the photo! No scraps to fall off, no photos to insert, no bulky card to mail. We turn any photo into a beautiful keepsake your recipients will always remember.

Postage Stamps Delivered to Your Door!

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

This might possibly rank as one of the top 10 time saving tips for the holiday season. If you’ve made a trip to the post office recently you may have noticed the longer lines which is always accompanied by little patience. Last year I had to stand in line for over 30 minutes to buy stamps for our family Christmas cards. The design selection wasn’t the greatest so I took what I could get. This year, we popped on over to usps.com to order our stamps online. They arrived in my mailbox in less than one week!

For a long time now the USPS has offered stamps depicting various aspects of American life and culture. This year is no different. Some of the great designs offered by the USPS are:

Holiday Knits - For the 2007 holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service will issue Holiday Knits, four stamps featuring classic Christmas-time imagery designed and machine knitted by nationally known illustrator Nancy Stahl: There is a dignified stag; a snow-dappled evergreen tree; a perky snowman sporting a top hat; and a whimsical teddy bear.

Luini’s Madonna of the Carnation - The 2007 Christmas stamp features an oil-on-panel painting entitled The Madonna of the Carnation by Milanese painter Bernardino Luini. Dating to around 1515, the painting is now part of the Samuel H. Kress Collection at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The stamp art is considered a detail of the painting, as the original photograph was slightly cropped on all four sides to fit the stamp format.

Hanukkah - The Hanukkah stamp—part of the Holiday celebrations series—features a photograph of a dreidel and the word “Hanukkah.” This stamp design was previously issued with a 39-cent denomination in 2006.

Kwanzaa - This stamp—part of the Holiday Celebrations series—commemorates the African-American holiday of Kwanzaa, which celebrates the seven principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

Celebrate - The new “Celebrate!” stamp, to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service in 2007, will help postal patrons acknowledge a host of happy occasions, from birthdays to engagements to anniversaries and more. When good times call for good wishes, this stamp design will add a touch of cheer to special greeting cards and gift-bearing packages.

Art of Disney: Magic - With help from some of Walt Disney’s famous animated characters, four stamps illustrate the theme of magic. U.S. Postal Service art director Terrence W. McCaffrey joined with a Disney team including artist Peter Emmerich and creative director Dave Pacheco to create four stamps that feature Dumbo and Timothy Mouse, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” and Aladdin and Genie.

You can also get Marvel Super Hero stamps depicting individual Marvel characters: Captain America, Elektra, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Sub-Mariner, The Incredible Hulk, The Thing and Wolverine, and why not… a stamp celebrating… (gulp) JURY DUTY!

Whatever you decide to do about stamps or postage for your holiday cards and goodies, do it now. Deadlines for packages to reach far off destinations are quickly approaching.

FYI, Scrapless Press cards DO NOT require any additional postage. HAPPY SHOPPING!!!
